Canon again introduced its newest lens. This lens is included in the RF lens family. Previously Canon had released five RF lenses. This sixth RF lens is Canon RF 24-240mm f/4-6.3 IS USM.
It is a telephoto zoom lens. This lens is the first telephoto zoom lens designed for cameras without a full-frame frame. So for now, it is only compatible with two cameras in the EOS R and EOS RP series.
This lens can zoom 10x. So as to provide high quality images. In addition, Canon RF 24-240mm f/4-6.3 IS USM in a compact and lightweight design. So it’s very suitable for traveling photographers.
Previously in the same class, Canon had an EF 35-350mm f/ 3.5-5.6L USM. This lens was released in 1993. Canon uses it for its EOS SLR film cameras.
IS-five focus and Nano USM. Then, what are the features of Canon RF 24-240mm f/4-6.3 IS USM?. Following is a discussion about it.
Canon RF 24-240mm f/4-6.3 IS USM Lens Body
The lens is designed concisely and lightly. This lens is designed for photographers who do not want to bother changing lenses when traveling.
This lens weighs 750 grams. Canon designs this camera lighter and smaller compared to other RF lenses. It has a focal distance of 24-240mm. However, it is quite unfortunate that Canon RF 24-240mm f/4-6.3 IS USM has not been equipped with weatherproof features.
Key Features
This lens has many features. This lens is designed for the EOS R System. So this lens is used for EOS R and EOS RP cameras. Canon also complements the latest RF lenses with stabilizer features.
So the photographer can take pictures and videos that have minimal blur. Although not using a tripod and in minimal lighting conditions. The Canon RF 24-240mm f/4-6.3 IS USM stabilizer feature is also supported by a 5-stop stabilizer system. So that it makes it less likely to blur.
The Canon RF 24-240mm f/4-6.3 IS USM lens is ideal for everything from wide-angle landscapes to portraits filling frames. This is because this lens is a 10x zoom lens. So, this lens is a new standard in full-frame quality.

Nano USM autofocus technology is one of the features in Canon’s latest lenses. With this technology autofocus performance becomes fast and precise when shooting or recording video.

In addition, Canon will offer a new EOS RP kit that includes the RF-24-240mm with an estimated retail price of $ 2199.00. Cheaper than the Canon EOS RP kit package with a 24-105mm f/4L IS USM RF lens.
This lens comes with technology that is not less interesting than the five previous RF sei. This lens has many advantages. The disadvantage of this lens is that it is not equipped with weatherproof features. So, it will be an obstacle when used outdoors.
This lens was designed to further enhance the EOS R Camera, the EOS Rdan EOS RP. So, for those of you who already have an EOS Rd EOS RP camera, surely you can’t wait to make this lens a collection. The Canon RF 24-240mm f/4-6.3 IS USM lens also has a Full-Time Manual Focus.
I think this needs a bit more in-depth explanation of the alleged “manual focus” as it is quite confusing how to use it and what you’ve listed leads the readers to the wrong conclusions. You cannot use the “manual focus” without changing the IN-CAMERA settings to “manual focus” each time you want to use the manual focus ring. Otherwise, the ring does nothing.
I bought this lens as a travel lens, but found myself still packing my other main lenses and just throwing this one in because it was compact and light… Not the point of a “travel lens” eh? The overall IQ is “blah.”
One thing that made me particularly critical of Canon concerning this lens was the lack of clear information in English concerning use of this mystical, mysterious “manual focus” system. They don’t really describe it on their site, in their brochures, and the manual is short, vague and enigmatic on explaining how to use it, and even many blogs (except for yours) seem not to have figured it out but attempt to describe it anyway. In short, the manual focus system is a serious drawback to this lens, and one I would put as the #2 “Con” after Image Quality.
I also think Canon has a big “con” going by avoiding talking about it and explaining clearly how the system works. To quickly switch between manual and autofocus with this lens is impossible, and can seriously impact your shoot. Such a major change from the universal “auto focus/manual focus” switch to a “focus/control” switch that apparently doesn’t do anything when switched should justify an extensive explanation of how to use it. Canon has failed miserably (not the first time) on this.
