Performance is just average in The HS22. It has start-up time around 3.5 seconds. Other cameras may have a bit quicker and bit responsive than this. Autofocus performance is not particularly quick either, with a slight delay perceptible between the act of half-pressing the shutter button and the AF system actually kicking into gear.
It is not a huge delay but it is noticeable, even when the camera is used in good light. Once the AF system gets past this small hiccup, however, it’s actually pretty fast to achieve focus. Images produced from this camera also not too impressive. Especially when you use the zoom function. How about the price?
